OCD is listed amongst the top 10 most debilitating illnesses by the World Health Organisation. Obsessive Compulsive Disorder is thought to affect 2-3% of the UK population. People with OCD often realist their thoughts and the actions they follow through are irrational, which in turn creates further distress. The culmination of these thoughts (obsessive) and behaviors (compulsions) can make the person feel like they have a case of the mental hiccups that won’t go away.

OCD is an anxiety disorder characterised by intrusive thoughts producing uneasiness and apprehension, fear and/or worry, by repetitive behaviours trying to reduce the anxiety within their own minds this makes them excellent subject for hypnosis and strategic therapy which includes CBT. With hypnotherapy treatment a person with OCD typically requires a treatment plan over a number of weeks cooperating with planned assignments between sessions.
